Harmonic mixing

How to use the Camelot wheel for a song.

To use the Camelot wheel, find your song's code from 1 to 12 with A for minor or B for major, then stay on the same slot, step one number up or down for a fifth, or flip A and B for the relative major or minor. Type a key or drop a track below to map it.

Next move: Start a release with this key.

Reading the wheel

Twelve numbers, two letters.

The number is the position on the circle of fifths. A is minor, B is major. Moving one number up or down is a fifth either way and changes one note of the scale. Switching the letter keeps the number and every note, and swaps the minor key for its relative major. Enharmonic keys share the same slot: F# minor and Gb minor are both 11A.
