Release planning
Pick a release day. Get the dates that follow from it.
The distributor delivery, the Spotify for Artists pitch, Apple and Amazon pitches, press, radio, lyrics and rights registrations, each counted back from the day you pick, with its source. These are the same rules Thermal's release clock runs on. Each row says where its rule came from and when it was found. Check the source before you bet a release on it.
Already delivered?
With a day picked, start a release on it. The date goes into the run as material. Before the pitch, check the ISRCs and settle the split sheet.
Questions
Why does the Spotify pitch say it is waiting?
You can only pitch a song once it shows under Upcoming in Spotify for Artists, and it only shows there after your distributor delivers it. Fill in the two dates under "Already delivered?" and the pitch opens.
What is the difference between aim and last day?
Aim is the day to do it by if you want full consideration. Last day is the day after which the window closes or the step stops counting. A step with one date has no hard close in the source.
Is there a pre-save date?
Not on this page. None of the sources the clock uses sets a rule for it, so this page does not invent one.
